A Remington .41 caliber Double Derringer belonging to the infamous 1930s bank robber John Dillinger was sold to a Los Angeles collector at the Heritage Auction Galleries in Dallas for $95,600 on Sunday.
The pistol is said to been found in one of Dillinger’s socks when he was arrested in Tucson, Arizona in 1934. The owner wished to remain nameless. Johnny Depp has recently portrayed John Dillinger in the movie “Public Enemies.” FBI agents in Chicago fatally shot Dillinger at the age of 31 in 1934.
