How much responsibility lays on a college in finding employment for their graduates? Should your tuition payments expand beyond academia? Well an unemployed Monroe College graduate is suing her alma mater because she can’t find a job.

Trina Thompson filed the lawsuit last week and is looking to be reimbursed the $70,000 she spent on tuition. She received her bachelor’s degree in April. Thompson blames the schools Office of Career Advancement, saying that they haven’t provided any leads or career advice that it promises. I’m sure a lot of college graduates will be keeping an eye on this case, more importantly the verdict. If Thompson does win, I’m sure many more suits will follow.
