Venezuela’s rambunctious leader, Hugo Chavez, is back at it again with more anti-American chitter-chatter. This time around el presidente is accusing the United States of playing “God” by artificially inducing the 7.0-magnitude earthquake in Haiti with a secret weapon believed by conspiracy theorists to be part of the High Frequency Active Auroral Research Program (HAARP).
Chavez believes the induced earthquake was a training drill and that the weapon’s main objective is to cause destruction in Iran and topple its government.
Is Chavez using this opportunity of suffering to continue his anti-imperilist propaganda or is there something more sinister lying under the surface? Do you own research.
In another example of who really governs the United States, the land’s highest court voted 5-4 to reverse a 20-year-old ruling that prohibited corporations from spending their general treasuries on campaign ads for presidential and congressional candidates.
The Supreme Court did not reverse course on a provision that prohibits direct contributions to candidates from corporations and unions. Proponents of the law’s new lenient limits have always suggested that strict spending limits on political campaigns were unconstitutional by censoring free speech.
On the other hand, the court’s dissenting view is that “The court’s ruling threatens to undermine the integrity of elected institutions around the nation,” said Justice John Paul Stevens.
Essentially, those with money – i.e. corporations and unions – will have even greater influence in federal campaigns by spending abundant sums of cash on ads geared to their politician of choice, which undoubtedly lead to government favors of all sorts. Yes, this scribe is a cynic, and this law does not benefit the little man.
By this time most of you are aware of the tragic earthquake that rocked Haiti early Tuesday morning. Hundred of thousands are feared dead as the 7.0 magnitude quake belted the country’s capital Port-au-Prince.
Aftershocks continue to make recovery efforts difficult. The Red Cross is reporting that up to 3 million people may be affected by the largest earthquake in two centuries.
“Parliament has collapsed. The tax office has collapsed. Schools have collapsed. Hospitals have collapsed,” said President René Préval amiss the chaos.
Anyone who would like to help please visit the American Red Cross and help the victims of the disaster by pledging a donation of any denomination.
Jay-Z once rhymed, “It’s a secret society, all we ask is trust.” With those words was Hova trying to tell us more than what meets the eye or was it just clever wordplay from Hip Hop’s greatest emcee?
Some conspiracy theorists insist that Jay’s new video to his hit single, “On to the Next One,” is laden with Masonic symbolism and are boldly accusing Jigga of practicing Masonry and even Luciferiancism – whatever the hell that is, no pun intended. Yeah, shit sounds deep.
Nothing surprises me any more but truth be told I’m not going to look much into this. What do you think?
A California university is giving new meaning to the phrase higher learning/education. Oaksterdam Universityin Oakland is a training ground for students interested in benefiting form Cali’s flourishing medical marijuana business.
Apparently, the university is doing so well that it opened up a new 30,000 square foot facility on its campus to increase enrollment of their three-month course yesterday.
Oaksterdam – a mash up of Oakland and Amsterdam – University claims to be “America’s first cannabis college” and offers students classes on “cannabusiness,” patient relations and distribution among others.
Hawkish Connecticut Sen. Joe Lieberman has his gun cocked ready for a third American war in the aftermath of the foiled Christmas Day terrorist attack aboard a Detroit bound Northwest Airlines flight.
Sen. Lieberman told FOX News Sunday’s Chris Wallace that the U.S. government needs to have a pro-active military approach in order to uproot Al-Qaeda’s factions in Yemen. The jingoistic senator cited an intelligence official who told him, “Iraq was yesterday’s war. Afghanistan is today’s war. If we don’t act preemptively, Yemen will be tomorrow’s war.”
Several “terrorists” have been linked to some Yemini terror organizations including the Fort Hood shooter but really can we afford another war? Apparently, we do – the Pentagon is going to spend more than $70 million over the next year-and-a-half on intelligence programs there.
LIEberman seems to have gotten his Christmas give – more war! Watch his interview on FOX News Sunday underneath.
Ironically President Barack Obama accepted his Nobel Peace Prize today, nine days after escalating America’s military presence in Afghanistan.
Obama became the first sitting United States’ president to receive the honor in 90 years and third overall. The wartime president said he would use the prestigious award to “reach for the world that ought to be,” all the while defending America’s wars.
How ridiculous is it for Obama to receive a peace prize while he’s sending 30,000 more troops to a region of the world dubbed the “Graveyard of Empires?” – so much for “Change” O-bomb-a.
Listen to a soundbite from the president’s acceptance speech underneath:
