Byron Russell has challenged Michael Jordan to a one-on-one, any time, any place. The challenge was issued after MJ singled-out the former Utah Jazz during his Hall of Fame induction speech last Friday.

During his induction speech, Jordan recalled a conversation he had with Russell after his first retirement in which Russell asked Jordan, “‘Why’d you quit? You know I could guard you. If I ever see you in a pair of shorts….’” Then in 1996, Jordan reminded Russell of his comment while at center court, Jordan recounted, “You remember the comments you made in 1994 about, ‘I think I can guard you, I can shut you down, I would love to play against you?’ Well, you’re about to get your chance.”

In response, Russell told Yahoo! Sports, “This is a call-out for him to come play me. He can come out here in his private jet and come play. He’s got millions of dollars. He can pay for the jet. He can meet me at the Recreation Center in Calabasas.”

I’d definitely pay to see this game on Pay-Per-View, first to 7 wins, but a safe bet would probably be MJ. Last time I checked, Russell was ringless.

Where the Buffalo Roam…

The living soap opera that is Terrell Owens got off to a positive start with his new team, the Buffalo Bills. In the nine plays T.O. played during Buffalo’s preseason opener at the Hall of Fame game in Canton, Ohio against the Tennessee Titans, the wide receiver caught 2 passes for 27 yards.

T.O., whose tumultuous relationships with quarterbacks has been well documented, didn’t loose his wig when Trent Edwards threw an interception while passing it to his other starting wide out, Lee Evans. He did however suffer a slightly sprained toe.

The 35-year-old Owens has never won a Super Bowl and is at the end stage of a Hall of Fame career. Unfortunately, nobody’s crazy enough to pick the Bills as Super Bowl contenders. But that’s why they play the game!
