Before there was a PlayStation or an Xbox, there was Nintendo, the originator of all modern home gaming. Now, in honor of its revolutionary features and the iconic-like appeal of Mario, Nintendo’s original Game Boy has been inducted into The National Toy Hall of Fame.
“Over the past two decades, Game Boy has become synonymous with hand-held gaming fun,” the Hall said in a release. “Its portability and efficient design, ability to allow simultaneous multiplayer gaming, and scores of intriguing games (like Tetris and Super Mario Land, featuring Nintendo’s already-iconic character Mario) make it a true innovator.”
Joining the Big Wheel and the “ball,” which I assumed would have been in already, the trio beat out the likes of Hot Wheels, Cabbage Patch Kids and the Rubik’s Cube, to name a few, in this year’s induction class.
Besides the newly inducted Game Boy, the first hand-held gamer, the only other gaming system in the Hall is the Atari 2600.

In an attempt to recover from recent money-losing earnings, the Sony Corporation has revamped the PlayStation 3, as well as slashing prices worldwide.
Debuting today, the PS3 Slim is a slimmer version of the PlayStation 3 and has about 120 gigabytes, 40 more than its predecessor. It’s also about $100 cheaper.
Gamers in the United States will pay $299 instead of $399 and in Europe, 299 euros rather than 399.
Although Sony has sold more than 23.7 million PS3’s since 2006, the global slowdown has weakened their sales.
The Nintendo Co. has sold about 52.6 Wii’s, which cost $250, and the Microsoft Corp have sold 31.4 Xbox’s, which go for about $300.
Sony projects selling 13 million PS3’s in the fiscal year through March 2010.

A Sarah Palin autographed Xbox was recently posted on EBay for a whopping $1 million accompanied by a stiff shipping price of $75. The former Vice Presidential nominee reportedly signed the video game console at the Wasilla Governor’s Picnic on July 24 two days before her resignation from her post as Alaska’s governor.
Many political experts believe Palin’s resignation was the start of her 2012 Presidential bid. We’re pretty sure the autographed Xbox was designed by her PR team to make the conservative Palin appear cool and youthful to young mainstream American voters much as President Obama did social networking push last year – not a bad ploy at all.

Quickly, ask yourself if you would buy these unique, yet tacky, Nike sneakers emblazoned with Xbox’s logo for a whopping $2,500. I’m sure some aspiring fashionista or video game junkie would.
The custom kicks designed and handmade by Cali-based artist Sole Junkie haven’t even been endorsed by Microsoft or Nike. Supposedly, the Xbox logos located on the patent leather back light up via inserted fiber optics and a hidden switch inside of sneakers tongue. The toes are painted in a Tiger Camouflage and accentuated with lime and bright green.
These exclusive sneakers are a size 11 up for auction on eBay. Check out more on these kicks here.
